Now is the time in your lives when you should be exploring and finding out who you are, not who anyone else thinks you should be. This is the time for you to express your individuality without worrying about what anyone else thinks, there will be plenty of time for that when you are an adult.
Be yourself and share the unique wonderful person you are with the world. Don't change yourself to suit other people or to be like someone else. There will always be people who won't like you, they will try to make you feel small or weird or awkward but don’t let them. Don’t change who you are so that these people will like you, the important people will like you just as you are. And changing yourself to be like other people only creates a bunch of clones, you don’t need to be a clone of someone else-you are an awesome individual. Stop worrying about what other people think. Life is too short to worry about what other people think. Do you want to look back at this time in your life and say “I’m glad I changed who I was to suit other people” or do you want to look back and say “Damn, I was awesome back then. And I still am now!” Be yourself. Be brave. Be weird. I love who you are. Share it with the world.
You don’t have anything to prove to anyone; you are perfect just the way you are. You alone are enough, remember that.
It is sometimes hard to follow this mindset in today’s society. We are often led to believe that we need to look a certain way, act a certain way, and do certain things in order to be loved more, be happier, and more accepted by others.
Rather than basing your self-worth on how you think you need to be perceived by others, you need to change your mindset. See your worth as a human being. Rather than focusing on losing weight and becoming thin, think of becoming healthy. Instead of striving for perfection, try to gain self-improvement. The more you learn to accept and love yourself, the better off for it and the more you will come to terms with the fact that you are already perfect.
Who you are has absolutely nothing to do with your appearance and your capabilities. Although it might take some time and practice, get on the right path to accepting you for who you are. And over time, more and more people are less likely to observe you for these trivial matters when they take a look at themselves. When you allow your fear and ego to stagger, you open them up for others to judge you as well. When you exude confidence, you block out their opinions of you. In this way, the only one that matters is you.
