BACES membership is open to any individual of Bulgarian descent. BACES has two classes of members:

  • Voting members – any individual of Bulgarian descent who is 18 years of age and resident of the State of California; and
  • Non-voting members – all other individuals of Bulgarian descent.

Potential new members are invited to attend open BACES meetings and learn more about the Society’s activities and what it means to be a member.

The active members (the sponsors) recommending a new member should be familiar with the person’s interests and skills. The sponsors should remain involved with the new member after he/she joins to help him/her get acquainted with the Society’s projects and committees.

Here are the steps to be followed:

  • Applicants should download the Membership Application Form (below), fill it out and mail it to 13547 Ventura Blvd, #191, Sherman Oaks, CA 91423. An electronic copy may be sent to for faster processing. All fields are required unless marked as optional.
  • The application goes to the Membership committee who will meet with the potential new member.
  • The Membership committee then sends the application with their recommendation to the Board of Directors for a final decision.
  • All BACES members in good standing are notified about the potential new member and have a chance to comment. If there are no objections within a 10-day period, the new member will be welcomed to the Society. If there are objections, the Board may invite the objecting party and the sponsors of the potential new member to a hearing before making a final decision.
