BACES PRESENTS THE LA PREMIERE OF “BECAUSE I LOVE BAD WEATHER”

The film “Because I Love Bad Weather” tells the story of Irina, who, on a rainy spring day, arrives at her family country house for the first time in years. There she meets Boris – a neighbor and a childhood friend who she has not seen for a very long time. What neither Irina, nor Boris know is that secrets from the past shall be revealed and those secrets might make them fall in love with bad weather.
Warm and human, gentle and romantic, “Because I Love Bad Weather” makes you smile, reminisce, ponder, and be filled with hope. The movie depicts Bulgaria as it really is, without any political references, without clichés, and without boasting or nihilism.
The splendid Neda Spasova and Vladimir Mihaylov star as Irina and Boris. The film is also the big return to cinema of the beloved by generations of Bulgarians, Boryana Puncheva, who, after her iconic performances in “Dami kanyat” and “The 13th Fiancee of the Prince”, makes an impressive return as the mysterious Miss Temenuga. With a strong comedic presence, Eleni Dekidis also joins the cast as the sweet pregnant shopkeeper Maria. The role of the bohemian Dimo fits like a glove to the veteran Veselin Rankov, and the incredible Ivan Burnev also has a special participation in this cinematic story.
The soundtrack of the film includes legendary Bulgarian songs created by the great Bulgarian composer Boris Karadimchev, including the new version of “The Love We Can’t Live Without” by “Tangra”, “My Love” by Bogdana Karadocheva, “V Nyakoy Chas” by Margarita Hranova. The soundtrack also features Vesselin Marinov with his mega hit “A Moment from Heaven” and Vlado Mihaylov with his band Rewind and their single “Crazy for You”.
The world premiere of “Because I Love Bad Weather” was in March 2024 at the International Competition of the 28th Sofia Film Fest, where the film won the Audience Award. After that, on April 5, 2024, the film premiered in cinemas in Bulgaria and remained on screen for 17 weeks.
